Monday, January 8th

I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable break! It is hard to believe we are already January 8th! This morning, we started with our new ELA unit on Social Justice. We completed an introductory lesson that helped the students better understand what social justice is and the types of issues are associated with Social Justice. At 10:00, we went to the library for book exchange. After recess, the students had 30 mins of Phys. Ed. with Mme Barthel. Once they returned, we started a new project on Pop Art. We learned the different characteristics of pop art and how to use them to make a visual image "pop". At 12:40, we completed a Math lesson based on angles. The students learned how to name different types of angles and match them with different shapes. At 1:40, we started our new unit in Health on publicity and promotions and how companies target certain people in their ads. Finally, to end the day, they continued working on their art projects with a substitute.
